GREENLIT BY CENTRAL CITY PRODUCTIONS CHAIRMAN & CEO , DON JACKSON, THE SHOW PROGRESSED INTO PRODUCTION IN THE FALL OF 2018. Mentoring Kings is Executive Produced by Don Jackson, with Jennifer J. Jackson serving as Executive in Charge of Production. Michael A. Johnson is the producer and director of the show.

Founded in 1970 by Don Jackson, Chicago-based Central City Productions, Inc. produces and distributes original programming targeting African American audiences. CCP's award- winning television programs include the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Black Music Honors, Stellar Tribute to the Holidays, The Black College Quiz Show Series, and Stellar Sunday, among many others.
